Chemtrol División Teatro Selects EAW Loudspeakers
For New Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes

Spectacular multi-stage performance venue in Valladolid, Spain features high-end
sound reinforcement systems all headed by EAW

Whitinsville, MA – August 9, 2007 - Internationally hailed as a spectacular live performance environment, the new Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes in Valladolid, Spain features high-end AV systems developed by the División Teatro (Theatre Division) of Madrid-based Chemtrol that offer premium pro audio components, headed by a variety of EAW loudspeakers.

The multifaceted venue houses three significant performance spaces, including a 1,700-capacity auditorium, which is the host venue of the Symphony Orchestra of Castile and Leon in addition to featuring a wide range of other productions. It’s joined by a beautiful 500-seat conservatory as well as a reconfigurable experimental theatre with seating for up to 600.

All of the performance spaces have excellent natural acoustics, with each sound system formulated under the direction of Fernando García Carrión, head of the AV Department of Chemtrol División Teatro, which is noted for two decades of excellence in providing AV designs for many top theatrical venues throughout Spain. All audio components for this project were supplied and fully supported by distributor Pro3 & Co. S.A. of Barcelona.

Both the auditorium and the experimental theatre offer main systems headed by EAW KF730 Series line arrays, and in both cases, the arrays are made up of 18 modules split evenly into flown left-right configurations flanking the stages. In the auditorium, EAW SB730 flyable subwoofers are also incorporated into the line array structures, four per side.

“The KF730 offers a pleasant, natural sonic signature, and its output very controllable from the lowest frequencies to the highest,” explains Carrión. “These arrays have plenty of throw for this application, but with very tight, clean intelligibility.”

Shadowed areas of the auditorium receive bolstered coverage from four EAW UB12e ultra-compact loudspeakers on delay. Dual EAW LA215 loudspeakers provide stage fill, and four EAW SM129z wedges can be utilized for stage monitoring.

Also in the experimental theatre, Chemtrol División Teatro chose to supplement the system with premium EAW NT Series self-powered loudspeakers featuring Gunness Focusing technology that produce studio sonic quality at much higher output levels. In total, four NT59 (15-inch woofer) and two NT29 (12-inch woofer) loudspeakers are available.

The conservatory, meanwhile, is outfitted with a less complex system. Four EAW MK2396 high-quality two-way loudspeakers supply reinforcement, backed by dual EAW JF50z compact two-way loudspeakers.

“The entire Chemtrol Divisón Teatro team is very pleased with the systems devised for this project, with the client equally pleased with what has been accomplished in terms of sonic quality and system operability in each application,” concludes Carrión. “We are very glad to have such a great working with relationship with Pro3, and really appreciate their unwavering support of our efforts, as well as the excellence of the top brands they represent.”
